Hannah Annonen has seen the power of music study to substantially improve mental, physical, and emotional development in people of all ages. Her goal as a music teacher is to give students the tools needed to access those benefits. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM LESSONS?
Repertoire-Based Teaching Students will learn a lot of music! This promotes student engagement and interest in studying and practicing.
Technical Development Students will be directed in technique development and exercises to ensure lifelong healthy playing habits.
Reading and Aural Skills Students will learn how to understand the music they read, as well as the music they hear.
Music Appreciation Lessons will include instruction in music history and modern music culture.
Musical Community (Optional) Through KMTA, students will be given opportunities to engage with other local music students and activities.

20+ years of study and practice
Hannah Annonen has been dedicated to private and professional study for over 20 years, developing her piano technique and her grasp on aural skills, music theory, and music history.
10+ years of private teaching
Hannah has been teaching since 2014, including several years as a piano teacher with the WSU Piano Pedagogy Lab School. She now teaches privately at the Bainbridge Island Music Guild, and in students’ homes on Bainbridge.
Professionally equipped to instruct
Hannah has a degree in music from Washington State University, where she studied piano performance. She is also a member of Music Teacher’s National Association, and Kitsap Music Teacher’s Association.
